Brief info
Sam is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working between the Astrophysics Group and the Environment and Sustainability Institute at the University of Exeter, where he is leading development of software to model light pollution using the university’s supercomputer (ISCA). He received his PhD in astrophysics from the University of Exeter in 2020, has taught undergraduate modules in Practical Physics and Scientific Programming in C, and supported the physics department’s move across to an online blended learning model during the pandemic.
Within MaxLLG, Sam leads the development and maintenance of our cloud and high-performance computing (HPC) products. He is focussed on delivering our computing services—including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence—over the Internet to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.
